Winner, Winner!
As I was walking back to my car after a lunch meeting, I spotted a cash-out voucher lying in the parking lot. It wasn’t the first time I’d come across one—and surprisingly, it happens more often than you’d think. Most are for small amounts, like this one, but it raises an interesting question: what happens to the money from unredeemed vouchers?
In Las Vegas, and around the world, these tickets have replaced coins and tokens in casinos. Gamblers cash out, collect them as souvenirs, or simply forget them. Some represent small fortunes; others, just a few cents. But in an industry where the house always wins, you might be surprised to learn where the millions of dollars in unclaimed voucher money actually go.
